Description

Explore the enchanting Casale di Alessia, located just 4 km from the center of Cava. Nestled on the slopes of Mount San Liberatore at 290 meters above sea level, the farmhouse offers a unique experience with its evocative atmosphere. The adjacent houses, surrounded by the small church dedicated to the Archangel Raphael, exude a particular charm, testifying to the history and culture of the area.

A short distance away, the pass known as the Valley reveals ancient traditions, such as the "game" of pigeons, evidenced by the nets stretched in the past. However, the community faced a tragedy in October 1954, when a part of the village was hit by a flood. A commemorative plaque in the small square remembers the victims of that dramatic night.

The visit continues to the parish church, dedicated to San Giuseppe and rebuilt after the flood. Follow the historical traces in the district of S. Adiutore, divided into three fascinating districts: Balnearia, Sepim (or Siepi) and Raparo. Each tells unique stories and offers breathtaking views, from Santa Lucia to Santi Quaranta. This itinerary promises a journey through the history, spirituality and scenic beauty of Alessia and its surroundings.
