Imagine breathing the air of the Italian Renaissance, when the dust of the streets mingled with the scent of orange trees and myrtles that adorned the triumphal arches. When the porticoes of Borgo Scacciaventi were filled with precious tapestries and the merchants' shops displayed their finest wares.

The historic center of Cava de’ Tirreni will return to the sixteenth century to immerse you in the charm and beauty of the Renaissance. 
Over 500 figures in historical costumes will enliven the enchanting and ancient porticoed village: nobles with regal elegance, lively commoners, imposing companies of arquebusiers, pikemen and drummers with their ringing notes. You will witness shows by jesters, musicians, street artists and the sumptuous reenactment of the entry of Emperor Charles V, which took place on November 22, 1535, when the powerful sovereign - on whose empire "the sun never set" - returning from the victorious expedition of Tunis against the corsair Barbarossa, was welcomed by our city on his triumphal journey to Naples.
