CARLO V in CAVA

The 2026 edition will feature a series of historical reenactments throughout the evening and a large procession with hundreds of participants in period costumes along the porticoed avenue. This year's event will feature as its guest of honor a representative from the municipality of Cuacos de Yuste, a Spanish town in the Extremadura region, famous for being the place chosen by Emperor Charles V for his final years and final rest. The town is currently twinning with the town of Cava de' Tirreni.

On Saturday, May 30th, the streets of the town will travel back in time with "Cava 1535 – The Entry of Emperor Charles V," a grand historical reenactment that will relive one of the most important moments in our city's history.
With imperial processions, traveling shows, artists, historical groups, and a Renaissance atmosphere, Cava de' Tirreni prepares to welcome Emperor Charles V once again, just as he did in 1535, when he reaffirmed the city's privileges and prestige. A journey through the history, traditions, and identity of our region, which lives on thanks to the passion and commitment of those who uphold these values.
