On Saturday 1 June Cava de' Tirreni relives the passage of the procession of Charles V, the Habsburg sovereign who visited the city in 1535 to reconfirm the privileges already granted by Ferrante I of Aragon in 1460.
The historical commemorative event, organized by the Pistonieri Santa Maria del Rovo Association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Cava de' Tirreni, will be held next Saturday 1 June, starting from 8 pm, with the grandiose historical procession that from Piazza San Francesco it will travel along Corso Umberto I to finally reach Piazza Abbro. At 9.30 pm, the theatrical show "The Emperor in La Cava" will be staged in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele III (Piazza Duomo). In addition to the Santa Maria del Rovo APS Ets Pistonieri Association, the "Luigi Einaudi" Cultural Center of San Severo (Fg), the historical procession of Teggiano (Sa), the Italian Association of Catholic Teachers section of Nocera Inferiore (Sa), the historical Marino Marzano Group of Sessa Aurunca (Ce), the ATSC Association of Trombonieri, Flag-wavers and Knights of Cava de' Tirreni, the NUNDINAE aps Study and Research Center of Gravina di Puglia (Ba), the Knights of the Giglio of Nocera Inferiore (Sa), the street artists “Compagnia Santo Macinello” of Palena/Guardiagrele II (Ch), actors of the “Fuori Tempo” Association of Cava de' Tirreni, the Musicians of “Compagnia del Cervo Bianco” (Na), at the Medieval Joust by Antonella Adinolfi, the Flag-waving Cultural Organization of the Royal City of Cava de' Tirreni.
The show “Lo Imperatore a la Cava” will be staged by the company “Fuori Tempo Teatro Luca Barba”, with text and direction by Geltrude Barba. Assistant directors Giuseppe Apicella and Giovanni Basile; historical research by Aniello Ragone. On stage the actors Giuseppe Cardamone; Pietro Paolo Parisi; Marco Gallo; Cristina Vitale; Lucrezia Macri; Rossana Lamberti; Esther Tortora; Carla Russo and Giovanni Falcone.
