The complex of Villa Rende, built in the 19th century by the Sicilian marquises of Rende and rich in history, has recently been the subject of a significant redevelopment financed with PIU Europa funds. The villa, which in the past hosted eminent personalities such as Umberto di Savoia and Maria Josè, is now surrounded by a park restored following the English style, which highlights the ancient beauty of the residences of the time.
This green space, the result of the recovery and safety work of the entire area of the historic residence, is open to the public until 9.30pm every day.

Mayor Servalli, in handing over the park to the city, highlighted its importance as a piece of history, through which Neapolitan, Roman and sovereign nobles of Italy walked. He underlined the importance of active citizenship in the protection of this heritage, entrusting it to the care of the residents of the center and of the Pianesi.
The recovery involved the arrangement of the gardens, the paths of the fountain, the access with the historic steps of via Balzico, and the replacement of the benches. With this initiative, the city is enriched with a regenerated, welcoming and history-filled space, inviting citizens to take care of it and respect it.
