In Cava de' Tirreni, the iconic Fontana dei Dolphins was recently returned to the city, a sculptural masterpiece created in 1818 by the Cavese artist Alfonso Balzico. This work was the subject of a careful renovation, focused on renovating the entire water system. The intervention included the replacement of the pumps and the renovation of the electrical system. Furthermore, the waterproofing of the pool has been redone, and new LED lights have been installed which will allow the fountain to be illuminated on special occasions.

The wind rose paving around the fountain has been completely renovated, with the replacement of grates and drains to improve rainwater drainage. The work has also been equipped with new structures that will make it more functional and attractive during celebrations and events.

The deputy mayor, with responsibility for public works and maintenance, Nunzio Senatore, underlined the importance of this necessary intervention, considering that the systems were now obsolete and not functioning, with unsustainable water losses. He also called on the community to take care of this precious fountain, so that it is preserved from acts of vandalism. The Dolphin Fountain, now restored and functional, represents a historical and artistic symbol of great importance for the city of Cava de' Tirreni.
