The events of the Challenge 2024

There will be four historical-folkloric events that will be held in the months of June and July in the city of Cava de' Tirreni, organized by the Trombonieri Flag-waving and Knights Association starting from 28 June and ending on 7 July with the highly anticipated "Challenge of the Trombonieri – The White Parchment”, now in its 48th edition.

 Here is the calendar of events co-organised by the Trombonieri Flag-Wavers and Knights Association with the Municipal Administration and with the patronage of the Campania Region and RAI Campania.

 Friday 28 June 2024 at 6.30 pm Conference Room of the Monumental Complex of San Giovanni Battista in Cava de' Tirreni. “Evolution of Muzzle-loading Weapons”, Conference with the participation of university professors and experts in ballistics and muzzle-loading weapons.

Friday 28 June 2024 at 8.30pm Garden of the Monumental Complex of San Giovanni Battista in Cava de' Tirreni.                    The “Failures” in the City of La Cava: a story of Courage and Loyalty - commemorative event with dramatized representation of historical facts - directed by Gaetano Stella.

Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June 2024 at 7pm “Simonetta Lamberti” Municipal Stadium in Cava de' Tirreni.

“Trofeo Città Fedelissima” - choreographic performances by the Casali dei Trombonieri and the flag-wavers.

Saturday 6 July 2024 at 7.00 pm, Borgo Grande di Cava de' Tirreni.

"Historical Procession", in 15th century costumes, starting from Piazza M. Amabile and arriving in Piazza V. Emanuele III, where the drawing of the firing order of the annual Challenge will be held. The procession will then travel through the ancient porticoed village.

Sunday 7 July 2024 at 7pm “Simonetta Lamberti” Municipal Stadium in Cava de' Tirreni.
